Good Friday Tenebrae Service

Walker Church’s music department will present its annual Good Friday Tenebrae Service on April 2nd at 7:00 p.m.  The service, which originated in the early church, is a poignant and moving presentation of song and scripture commemorating the trial and crucifixion of Christ. Accompanied by piano, flute, and cello, the choir performs the program in the sanctuary after a 6 p.m. dinner in the fellowship hall. We urge you to attend and experience the fullness of Holy Week, from Palm Sunday to the cross and then to the joy of resurrection on Easter Sunday. Mark this date on your calendar and please invite a guest!

UMW – March 8

Ladies remember that the UMW will meet in the Fellowship Hall on March 8 at 10:00am.  Donna Kicklighter will be finishing her 3-session discussion on “God’s Mission, God’s Song.”  Please remember to bring $6.00 for the Sacrificial Missions Donation that will go to the 6 North Georgia missions.  Also bring paper products to be donated to the Circle of Love.  Light refreshments will be served.

One Great Hour of Sharing

Special Offering – March 14, 2010

Once a year, we are asked to join other United Methodists by participating in this special offering to support humanitarian aid through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).  UMCOR receives no World Service funds or any other apportionments.  Your donations to the “One Great Hour of Sharing” are channeled through UMCOR to where they are most needed – assist the most vulnerable people whose needs are greatest – to open a door to hope for people who are suffering.  Please give generously on March 14.
